FAQs

Choosing your perfect dress can be a daunting prospect, if you can’t find an answer below to a question you may have, please do contact us

Do I need to book an appointment?

We want to make sure every bride feels special, taken care of and, most importantly, never rushed. Therefore, we always ask our brides to make an appointment so that they can enjoy the space we’ve created with their friends and family. Saturdays generally get booked up 2 weeks in advance, but we welcome browsing in between appointments.

When should I start looking for my Wedding dress?

Once you’ve really enjoyed celebrating your engagement, it’s time to get down to business and start the search for “the dress”. A year before your wedding date is a great time to start looking, this gives you plenty of time to try a good selection of styles without any stress. Wedding dresses generally take 4-5 months to be made so its best to order in plenty of time and alterations can take up to 2 months to be completed. We do have a selection of ready to wear wedding gowns for brides that need their gown sooner.

Who should I bring to my bridal appointment?

Although it might be tempting at first to bring the entire bridal party on your first bridal appointment, most brides find too many opinions can become confusing and make the process much more overwhelming than it needs to be. At Izzi Stockton Bridal, we want to keep the focus on you and only you. So, we’d advise bringing up to three of your closest friends or family and leave the rest of the bridal party and guests to be surprised on your big day!

What size are Izzi Stockton Bridal sample sizes?

We believe that every Bride should have the same experience of wedding dress shopping and the same amount of choice no matter what size you are. Our collection of dresses start from size 8 and go up to size 30, the majority of which are size 18+. We have a selection of different shape and style plus size bridal dresses to flatter the fuller figure, as well as jackets and straps to compliment the gowns. However, having been in the bridal business for a long time, we have several super-clever ways to show the true fit of each dress even if it doesn’t quite fit.

How do I pay for my dress?

After the excitement of choosing your perfect wedding dress, the time will come when you decide to purchase your gown. Here, we take a 50% non-refundable deposit on the dress to enable us to order it with the designer and begin the process of having it made. The balance of the dress is payable when the gown arrives into Izzi Stockton Bridal and you can come to try it on for the very first time.

When do I have my dress fitted and when can I take it home?

We start alterations approximately 6-8 weeks before your wedding depending on your circumstances. You will generally have 2-3 fittings and get to take it home ready for your big day about a week before after we have given it a thorough steam and final check. If you are marrying abroad we can even pack it into your case for you.

The only last thing to remember? Have the most amazing wedding day, full of love and happiness and remember to send us some of your beautiful images as we always love to see the final look.
